First Meet

A successful first meeting of the season
We had a very successful first ‘face to face’ meeting back in Bittaford Village Hall on September 14th, with over a dozen members attending in person. Where we also successfully managed to Zoom the meeting to connect with more people at home. Nine members contributed to the ‘show your own’ evening, which covered new techniques they had tried, lockdown projects, use of new gear or software as well as some of their favourite recent images. There was a lot of audience participation and discussion about how the images were created which was truly inspirational. Coupled with the usual banter and humour it made for a very well-rounded evening.

We will have a mix of physical and Zoom meetings this year which allows us to hear speakers and judges from further afield. In October we have an image discussion evening on 12th (Zoom), and a demonstration evening on 26th (Hall) showing what you can do with your images after taking them. This will cover everything from printing and mounting to posting on social media. There will be a Zoom option for the latter for those not able to attend in person.

Further details including our programme can be found on our website: www.ivybridgecameraclub.org and details of any events or outings are posted on our facebook page www.facebook.com/groups/IvybridgeCameraClub.

Photographers of any level are welcome to join us, all you need is an enthusiasm for photography and you can come to a meeting to see what we do before committing to join. Just contact us in advance to receive a Zoom link or come along to a meeting in the hall. Normally your trial meeting is free but if there is an external speaker we make a small charge to help cover the additional cost.

The hall is a good size which can easily accommodate social distancing for more members, and good ventilation is provided by opening windows all along two side of the room. For anyone still concerned about Covid we are Zooming these meetings to them at home.
