We Won

Ivybridge & District Camera Club took first place in the Devon Photographic Clubs' Battle, against stiff competition from Paignton Photographic Club and Exmouth Photo Group who gained second and third places respectively. In addition, our Alan Davey gained the Best Print accolade for his Windy Garden House image. The Battle was held to a packed audience at St John's hall Paignton on Saturday 12th May and judged by Tony Byram EFIAP ARPS AWPF DPAGB, who did an excellent job in judging and critiquing the panels and also the digital images. Alan Davey had two prints in the successful panel, the other three prints were by Sue Joselyn, Ian Clements and David Rayner. Invaluable help on the day delivering and erecting the panel was supplied by David Waterman and Michael Greaves. A real team effort.

The panel was titled Nature in Motion and featured two wooded bluebell scenes, a bed of tulips and two images from flower beds taken at the Garden House. All the images were creatively processed to produce or enhance an ethereal effect, and motions, that matched across the elements of the panel. It is hoped to have the panel available at the club meeting on Tuesday the 22nd, for those of you who sadly missed the event.

The annual Devon Photographic Clubs' Battle is open to every photographic club in Devon and is a competition to produce the best panel of 5 themed photographs. A projected image competition is held as part of the day's events, but Ivybridge were not successful in this event.
