We first started Practical Tutorial Evenings in 2006 when we obtained a grant to cover the cost of the equipment from the National Lottery ‘Awards For All’ Programme, and have held eight or nine of them every year since by popular demand.

These occasional evenings are hosted by our own members or sometimes by invited guest speakers and cover a range of practical photography issues from beginner to expert. These evenings also frequently offer the opportunity for group discussions, not available on busy competition evenings. Dates and details may be found on the Events page.

Various members offer their time to present these evenings and we welcome any member who would like to join the ‘team’.

Printed handouts are often issued on particular subjects and members who missed an evening may obtain a copy by using the button above.
