Currently there are fourteen competition evenings during
the club year encompassing many categories including
giving wide scope, both to embrace members’ preferences
and for non-competing members to study, judge and enjoy
other peoples work. We have competition sections in
slides, colour prints, monochrome prints and digitally
projected images. There are two league tables running
through the year with winners in all the sections listed
above.
The judging for competitions varies from an external
Judge who assesses and comments on individual work to
member voting by anonymous slips. Discussion is invited
after the results are announced.
Several times during the year the we hold multi-way
competitions with other photography clubs in the area.
We also take part in the Western Counties Photographic
Federation's travelling print and folio, with entrants
selected from the WCPF members' competition.
The club also takes part in the Devon Photographic Clubs
Trophy and has so far succeeded in reaching third place
(May 2005 & May 2009) with a panel of five prints
from three members, the result of a collaborative effort
of a number of members to take photographs on a theme.
