The evening of June 24th saw thirty members and guests
turn up for a walk and photo shoot around Venford Reservoir
and thence on to Combestone Tor for a hoped-for sunset
photograph. The weather and light was most favourable,
although tripods were an advantageous accessory and
the possibility of a good sunset tantalized members
until the last.

An 18:30
start and good weather ensured the light was reasonable
and very soon groups set off doing the circuit
around the reservoir. Later arrivals did the circuit
in reverse which made for interesting chance meetings!

Some did arrive a
tad late! -

We
all wondered about this disturbance in the
water - but Tony Clements 'saw' it as a
lady in the lake... |

Having
explored the reservoir, most members headed off
to Combestone Tor - although it was not long before
a few impatient ones just had to leave for the
pub... For the more intrepid of us it was just
a matter of waiting for the light... oh! and finding
a parking space! |

By this
time most members, having scared off genuine visitors
to the Tor, decided to retire to the pub leaving
Dave to find a way down from the rocks. Keith
and Dave were not quite the last to arrive at
the Forest Inn, but suffice it to say that as
we arrived, the 'late arrivals' were just leaving! |
