Sport Photographer of the Year

For the second meeting of the autumn season Ivybridge Camera Club members were asked to exhibit prints of a sporting nature to run for the Sport Photographer of the Year competition. Twenty-one colour prints were entered, which for this traditionally low profile competition was a reasonably high number.

Judging was by voting slips and Keith Miller of Ivybridge took first place with a dramatic motorcross image. Keith Mason, also from Ivybridge sailed away to second place with a print of a sailing boat entitled ‘Extending the Lead’ and third place was gained by Keith Miller with a rock climbing scene.

The next two meetings are Tuesday October 11th when Mr Les Bennet from Launceston Camera Club will be judging the Challenge Cup competition and Tuesday October 25th when Ivybridge will be hosting the annual 3-Way Battle between local photographic clubs Wembury and Kingsbridge. As always, visitors are welcome to attend and further information plus directions are available elsewhere on this website.

May we remind occasional visitors that Ivybridge Camera Club now meets at a new venue - the new community hall at Bittaford. In the meanwhile, members’ photographs will be on display at the Ivybridge Garden Association’s autumn show at St Johns Hall, Ivybridge on Saturday October 22nd
