| With the summer recess over, members attended the first meeting of the autumn and winter period and despite a number of people being on holiday a good attendance ensued on Tuesday the 14th September. Members took part in an 'Open' competition where points acquired go forward over a number of such meetings culminating in the highest number of points winning the club's Merit Shield. Many topics were covered in the work entered in the three categories: slides, black & white and colour prints. The results eventually came to light but proved difficult to decide, such was the standard of the entries. The black and white prints section was won by Keith Mullin of Ivybridge with Eric Foster, also of Ivybridge in second place. Peter Pearce of South Brent took third place. In the colour print section South Brent was again well represented; Bob Pike took both first and second places with Steve Cleave, again from South Brent coming third. Some good work had been entered in the colour slide section where the first place went to Keith Mullin of Ivybridge, with second and third places secured by Clive Brown from Ivybridge. It was noted by a club member who had always processed his own colour prints that due to the fact that materials were becoming very difficult to obtain he had reluctantly decided to end this interesting side of his hobby. He suggested that the growth of digital photography had brought about this regrettable demise. On the 28th of September Pete Norwood will give a talk on the photography of 'bugs'. All are welcome to join us at St Johns Church Hall, Ivybridge at 7.30 pm. Reminder for members - bring entries for the
Challenge Cup to the meeting on the 28th.
