In the West Country we have some of the finest megaliths (big stones) in the British Isles. Many think they are part of a lost civilisation of Europe which once stretched from the furthest Scottish Isles to the Mediterranean. Elizabeth Ashton Hill is holding an exhibition of photographs of megaliths at the Wharf Gallery, Tavistock, Devon, England, from the 3rd to the 29th October. They were taken during a 4000-mile boat voyage from Outer Hebrides to Malta. Many appear as illustrations in Peter Marshall's book 'Europe's Lost Civilisation'.
