The club in the past three weeks has enjoyed the viewing of what is held to be the best photographs and slides produced in the Western Counties, one hundred of each category selected from many more entered by almost all the camera clubs in the west of England. The top ten in each category were pre-judged and so members had the enjoyment of considering their own critique and comparing it with the 'official' one. The club had the pleasure of finding three of our own members had been selected in each category. On the middle week of the three, individuals within the club have also given a presentation of some of their prints, slides or digitally projected images, either as a short travelogue or as a portfolio. This proved to be most enjoyable for all who had the pleasure of viewing them. Members found that images that would not otherwise 'make the grade' for individual presentation, in fact, made a very presentable grouping, demonstrating there is more to be found in photography than mere quality of image. The club awards presentation evening will be held on the 14th of December when members will enjoy a dinner in the company of friends and families and then to look forward to another interesting and entertaining year of photography. All interested photographers will find a welcome
at St John's Church Hall, Ivybridge in 2005.
