| The
object of the Ivybridge & District Camera Club is
to promote and support the interest of photography as
a recreational pastime for everyone who is interested.
The club welcomes visitors and new members of all levels
of photographic ability.
We are a mixed club with a varied age range, diverse
abilities, interests and levels of photography experience.
We are all photographic enthusiasts who like to listen,
exchange and learn more about photography and how we
can improve our photographs. We support both film and
digital photography, with members using combinations
of all methods.
The club is affiliated to the Western
Counties Photographic Federation, which gives access
to lectures, judges, seminars and other photographic
activities.
Meetings are held at 7.30pm in the new hall at Jubilee
Terrace, Bittaford PL21 0DA (First left after 30mph

and fourth Tuesdays in the month, except for near holidays
and in summer. See Events page for details.

In addition to the regular meetings a
number of Practical
Tutorial Evenings are held throughout the year.
The club holds regular competitions
with other local photographic clubs and also enters
into regional competitions.
As well as outings and talks, our calendar has a range
of internal competitions,
which although not obligatory are well supported with
a wide range of work. Some competitions are themed and
some are ‘open’. Many have sub-sections
with a range of colour print; black & white print;
slide and digitally projected image categories, giving
scope for members’ tastes and preferences.
Shields, cups and trophies are awarded to competition
winners at an award ceremony in
December each year and the
event doubles as a Christmas dinner and get-together. |
